do u believe in God?

what do u know about islam?

plz,give a simple answer

errr....?...errrrr....??

ehmm exactly what I thought RockLee

apologies if I'm messing up a perfectly serious question, but although I like simple and to the point myself, the question posted by you, moslema, is just a bit too undescriptive ...

1) do you believe in god? - no i do not believe in god
2) what do you know about... - islam is the religion with the most waring fanatics at the moment
3) why are not u a muslim - see above.

I Believe....

in some higher power, not sure if I can put a lable on it?
It seems to me Mother Nature and luck/fate seem to control life. I sometimes wish I had a close friend who was a Muslum and could answer the many questions I have about the religion. All the news sources paint a very bad picture of the fanatical worshipers and make them all seem like an enemy. I'm sure there is a lot to hear that would be positive, but what to believe is hard to sort out.
It seems all the history I grew up with made it sound like since the beginning of the religion, it has been at war with some other group. If you would like to explain some things about it to me, feel free to PM me.

I am not a firm believer in God ...

I believe or maybe I just want to believe (which is probably what religion is about) that there are some higher powers at work. So I am a bit spiritual, but organised religion is somewhat restricting if you ask me. My parents are Roman Catholics and I have as a kid gone through the Catholic prerequisite ceremonies, but I was always too headstrong to just believe whatever would be served to us as fact during sermons and readings.

Life was not created by God I think ... I go with the scientific Darwinian explanation and the Big Bang Theory of the creation of life and our universe. I read once that that too is like religion heheh.

Difficult questions to answer, and my answers are quite short. There are however many facets to what I think on these topics, maybe some of these will filter through during this discussion.

peace..
welcome back violet

i guess that darwin didnt tell much about the 1st cell..the 1st molecule..

yes..thre r many facets

i hate restriction too!

but i look at islam rules with my own eyes.

i obey..completely

but after i asked and discussed

and loved this religion!

3 days later i will be back

till then..

peace and mercy b upon u

This thread is going to start a bigger uproar than the recent Hitler/Jews thread that eventually had to be locked down.

Hmm anything is possible ;) ...

I was away from this forum for a long time and visited today for the first time in many months heheh, so I missed the thread you mention.

But with many topics it is very easy to turn discussion/debate into abuse and namecalling. I have seen this happen often on forums, with less controversial topics than religion too ;)

So lets just see where it goes if it goes on at all, and if it must be locked down eventually, so be it :)

I Always....

feel guilty using the Forum for non-Japanese subjects? I do like to hear how other people think & feel from a different culture than me. It is difficult to converse with someone who strongly believes in something you don't!
Few people seem to be able to put their thoughts & beliefs
across without getting frustrated at someone closed to trying to understand. Sooo much easier to hate then to be open. Funny how human nature seems to make us believe way of thinking is the only possible "right" way.
I have to agree Mike, this thread seems headed for doom!

which is why i'm gonna go ahead and not answer the question of how i think life came to be.

anything before 1988 or so (when I was 6) I don't have any first hand information on, so it'll all be second hand or third or fourth... so the creation of people and the world.. i'm gonna go ahead and guess that was before 1988, right?

but if you try to convert me in any way or form, I will flame you. I will flame you to the extent that this thread will need the famous little lock icon. You have been warned.

Out of all the faiths that involve the Hossanah/Yewah/Allah deity, I personally admire the Muslim faith the most.

Jewish faith is a close second though.

I like the faiths because of the texts on them. The holy scriptures. I really find it interesting on how the old testament, and the korran seem to talk about similar things. The Muslim faith mentions prophets that are acknowledged in the old testament, and the old testament mentions people that are also in Islamic texts. The correllation is really interesting to read.

I also like the old Jewish and Islamic texts when regarding Jesus. VERY interesting to read.

As for beliefs, I have a lot of them, but none of them coincide with the common train of thought of what "God" may or may not be.

Not to sound crass, but I was born Catholic.. that is the main reason.

I believe in God, not your God, but I respect that he does exist and that he means much to you and other peaceful Muslims. Sadly, his name being used for murderous acts by cowardly Islamic fanatics must be causing peaceful Islamic followers some sort of anguish right about now. My only hope for those peacful people of Islam to reverse the negative marks on their religion that butcherous cowards like Osama Bin Laden have forced upon it would be to spread the positive aspects of Islam without forcing their views on others. Do it passively, people are more responsive when they do not feel threatened.

The Coran does not teach people to murder others in cold blood, falsely saying God told them to. The Coran teaches to love one another.

This is all I can add to this thread, sorry if it pissed you all off.

I don't believe in god, because it is irrational and can be disproved by logic (depending on how one imagine it).

Religions can be useful for some people, but rational beings are much better off creating their own belief system or philosophy. Religion was made for the benighted masses, and is not worth much more.

The problem of monotheist religion (only one god) is that they end up being intolerant and narrow-minded.
