Sardinians: Phenotypical variation

IMO They resemble Central Italians, Eastern Iberians and Southern French the most, with a minority passing all over the Mediterranean and some Pan European types.

There's been an Anti-Sardinian propaganda runned by some "Anthropologists" to differentiate them from the rest of Italy by making measurements of extreme dark and the most exotic looking people. I've been to both Sardinia and in Italy once but I haven't seen any significant difference. The only difference I seen maybe the increase of "Western Mediterranean" and CM types and the decrease of Dinaricized/Armenized types which are common all over mainland Italy.

They're different from every modern population but it doesn't mean they have to look different from everyone. Sardinian like DNA exist even in Norway at 30% (Early European Farmer related ancestry) They just happen to be the purest European farmer population who survived the Steppe-Indo European invasion.

The main component of Scandinavian DNA is Steppe admixture. This guy looks very atypical in Sardinia. EEF exists all over Europe and this explains why Med types exist all over Europe. But it doesn't explain this guy because his phenotype is not Med.

Sardinia does have some Steppe admixture.

Only some Sardinians have absolutely no Steppe (for example HGDP01068).

However, some Sardinians can have even about 10% Steppe (like HGDP00667).

So they are not completely "untouched" by the Indo-Europeans, of course.

There is also a lot of R1b and even some R1a in Sardinia (Francalacci 2013).

Therefore, you will provide the url for every picture in this thread in which the people are in non-traditional dress, and if those urls don't unambiguously label the people as Sardinian, the entire thread will be deleted and you will receive an infraction.

According to Biasutti (anthropologist) they are very similiar to the Italian average, the only real difference is the presence "Paleo Sardinian type" (pre-neolithic?).

Take a trip to Sardinia and see for yourself. Friendly, tough, funny, good looking people with traditional values that most Europeans have lost and continue to lose.

@Tomenable, you come from Poland and you should know better than most that diversity doesn't mean someone is a Pole or not. Your country has way more phenotypical diversity than Sardinia so what do you have to say about that? That most of your people are not even Polish?

No one takes those maps seriously only those who wants to believe those datas are legit when Sardinians clearly aren't dark neither in hair or pigmentation compared to other South Europeans even a blind can see this, but since most anthropology ie. skull measurement, skin and hair pigmentation were made to serve certain interests some of those data were fabricated to fit for certain agendas (mostly Eugenicist nonsense)

Modern genetic studies have proved that Sardinians are almost an entirely Early European Farmer derived population with little to no affinity to Steppe related people. In some ways they're similar to Basques who also seem to form a district cluster from the rest of modern Europeans, along with Saamis.

Don't agree at all:
the Sardinians (of old origin) are by far the darkest Italians as a whole, and in Europe there is a so high % of dark hues only in Southern Portugal and Cyprus; for bony parts they show some light heterogeneity, with some 'archaic' dolicho types of mesolithic mix (the most in the most 'archaic' region as a hazard) and some light 'brachycephalizing' component surely rather of 'alpine' type, at first sight -
don't rely on groups photos taken in a country during tours; only groups photos with genuine previous inhabitants can give us some clues -
I precise I have not agenda of any sort - but I saw so many pseudo-ethnic pictures on fora and blogs...
ATW as time runs the interregional differences tend to disappear more or less quickly, even in remote and poor regions.people move, the i,habitants of poor but beautiful regions goes to industrial suburbs (what a nice life!) and the rich ones live two lifes, one ot them in these precise poor beautiful regions: law of life???

Sardinians are not come from the moon - but they retained more old EEF traits and a bit of older pops ; that doesn't mean they stayed fully the pure same people and escaped totally the IEans or Chalco Anatolian input; here we can agree I think

Actually it's not a Map, it's an entire book, old.. i know, full of data and statistics (i have a reprint of "Antropometria militare")..in Lombardy blondism is/was 10,1% so 1.8% for Sardinia seems accurate to me..btw having "yellow hair" is not that special IMO, and i don't understand why they should lie..Livi was a military doctor and Biasutti a geographer, not eugenicist nor racists especcialy Biasutti (he wrote entire volumes about the peoples of Africa Asia and Oceania)
