Was he R1b/R-M269/R-L151? FTDNA suggests that the Little family (Malcolm X is part white through his paternal side) is predominately R-Y11640 (subclade of R-DF13/R-L21).
Looking at his younger photos here: (I don't know if it could be edited), he sort of has the resemblance a young rascal, southern/antebellum, scotch-irish hoodlum who probably lives in a metal shack with a devious gaze.
