Yeah, as usual, politicians are more preoccupied on spending sh*tloads of money on social policies that would grant them reelection rather than putting together efforts to secure (for example) european borders, european financial interests, and yes, european defence too. Like one american general said, „European armies are pensionners' retreats, they aren't capable of putting together an army of 50.000 people”. And one can hardly argue with him, yes, Germany, France and Britain can mobilise some troops, but only to defend their own (national) interests, other than that they don't know how to pull back quicker, if things get messy.
