Belarusian in Belarus is vulnerable… As is Basque.

Irish, Yiddish (Belarus), Romani (Romania) are endangered…

You didn’t notice a map of thriving regional languages by any chance? Catalan might be an example.

destruction of all languages except the main language in each country is what that government wants and aims for..............but with technology, we will see most likely 2 x lingua-franca's appearing in the future......these languages will fight each other for world dominance ..........English and Chinese

This was often the case both naturally and systematically, but the preservation of minority cultures has been in focus since 1840s and even more so during the past few decades.


Catalonia is one of the recent examples. Irish has been rejuvenated since Ireland’s independence a century ago. Belgium and Finland are bilingual. Hebrew was brought back from the dead along with Israel… well that is a complicated case.

Nah, that's the only one I saw.

My mother's village has its own dialect. But probably far too minor to be on the map. I'd bet that it is likely endangered as well.
