    Dutch with mostly Scandinavian DNA

Seven years later, the tests can’t be fooled anymore when it comes to Scandinavian. I’m Dutch, and you can tell the algorithm still has some noise in it, though of course you can always come up with a nice story. ...the earlier test correctly identified Friesland and the north of the...

It's a trace indeed. Of course it could be a faulty calculator, my daughter suddenly has traces of Central Asian, Northern Indian & Pakistani now.

Society New map of average male body height in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa

I like the detail in the netherlands. There is really a difference between north and south. 23andme: Genetic differences often arise thanks to geographic barriers like mountain ranges or rivers, but culture can shape populations, too — even in countries generally thought to be fairly...

and... just beta-updated to 0,1% Senegambian & Guinean... this make sense actually. Senegambia was connected to the Dutch West India Company (WIC) due to slavery.

    Mother H1, Son H17?

I read about a person with the same error. H1 instead of H17. (I noticed it because I am H17) topic called 37852-H1-and-H17a, can't make a link yet. ...but what do we know now? There is so little info available about various MtDNA.

Swedish Egalitarianism is a relatively new phenomenon?

The adventurous tough genes has left sweden a long time ago. Just like how the explorers left the netherlands. All went to the new world.

    Dutch with mostly Scandinavian DNA

It also depends which test you take. 23andMe is getting better at removing Skandinavian (up to 25% to below 10%) over the years... putting our Dutch dna into their "French & German" category. LivingDNA will give you a lot of British. (50+% in my case)

    Haplogroup W - Do I even exist?

My daughter (and her mother) has W. This is the explanation of 23andMe; Haplogroup W has been found at sites from the Corded Ware Culture. The name of the Corded Ware culture comes from their characteristic pottery, which was decorated with cord-like designs. The people of the Corded Ware...

23andMe Any thoughts on Admixture distributions re: the new update?

I received a nearly triple dose of F&G after the changes. (21,3% to 63,1%) This could apply to more "natives". With my papertrail it should be up-to 100% "G" when looking at a timeframe of < 500 years ago. Would the Iron Age French have been 100% French/German or Lindow Man being of 100%...

    african admixture in Europeans

23andMe found; "West-African" 0,1%. I "made up" a whole story of posible slave trade connection. But after an update it became "broadly East African" 0,1%... on an another chromosome. I don't know if these small traces are noise, or just admixture labeled wrong.
