What subclades of I1-M253 can 23andMe identify?

I did a recent test at 23andMe and they stated I am I-Z58. I ran the data file at the Morley predictor and they returned, I1a2b1~1 (I-Z58). I just did a 37 marker test at FTDNA and of course they put me in the I-M253 catagory, so I'm about to upgrade with that snip pack.

    U5b1b1-T16192C!

I agree. I read somewhere that there was a "bottleneck" with the spread of U5 in Europe, I think due to a large expansion of other haplogroups into Europe during a specific period. I'll have to try to find that text. Still, for there seemingly being such low percentages of U5b1b1 in larger...

    I1a or I-Z58

Thanks, I will bear that in mind. Incidently, looking through my files I note I had already done a Morley predictor test with my 'Living DNA' YDNA file and the prediction was a little different to the 23andme one, I1a2a2~1 / I1-L41. Thank you very much for the reply!

    I1a or I-Z58

I appreciate the information. The BigY-700 is too expensive for me at present. I will start with the Y-111, then purchase upgrade(s), eventually to the BigY. I am very interested in the deep history of my paternal line. FTDNA have my sample from my mtDNA test and soon I will ask them to proceed...

    I1a or I-Z58

I did a bit of research and discovered I-Z58 is a subclade of I1a, and I1-Z58 is how it is referenced.

    I1a or I-Z58

Living DNA report I1a and 23andme I-Z58. I'm a bit confused how to interpret the difference. FTDNA have my sample from my mtDNA test, so I will soon upgrade to Y-111 for paternal. Can someone kindly interpret the above. My heritage as far back as I know is solely English based on my motherline...

    Cheddar Man and Me?

I was on Gedmatch but left because of all the security issues with them. But, thanks for the information. I will investigate this and see how things are there now. Thanks for replying.

    Cheddar Man and Me?

Thanks for reply. Yes, though the haplogroups have a connection, so I assume there is some extremely distant relationship. For them to quote a cM amount is ridiculous, considering they would have had to do a full sequence scan on my uploaded file. I'm not a member there, just uploaded my dna to...
