Sadly the 80 year old first grader will have freedom to do what he wants, it’s like having an elderly 90 year old with early onset dementia sailing the boat and his guards won’t allow you to take over the helm. We need better checks and balances at this point so we can allow someone to take over when the president starts making dangerous decisions due to age related cognitive decline or health conditions.

The F-15 Airman who survived and was rescued in Iran is absolutely astounding. I am happy for his safe return; we must never confuse the war with the warriors. This soldier's ability to survive is nothing short of epic, and should become a movie. He was injured, scaled 1000 foot mountain side, all while enemy combatants were looking for him, along with a $50,000 bounty for his capture. It is an amazing human story.

Yes, this warrior stands way way taller than those who sent him into danger.

Generally in war there are 2 types of people...those who get rich and those who get dead.
 
There are some rumours circulating on social media that the downed pilot was all a fabricated cover for a failed operation by American special forces to seize Iranian enriched uranium. However, there is no concrete evidence to support these claims.

Trump threatens that "an entire civilization will die tonight" which obv means he will obliterate Iran entirely if they dont release the straight tonight. Unhinged. I doubt Iran would take that threat seriously bc come on, not even Trump would go to those extremes.
 
So if by 8pm nothing happens with the straight, trump would have to either commit a horrible genocidal act as well as long lasting consequences including exponentially heightened risks of terrorist attacks or not do anything and so any future threats that come out of his mouth would be shrugged off as being nothing but angry barking from a tiny dog

I find it fascinating, their genetics, history, and culture (much of which is shared with Europeans; CHG in Steppe, Iran_N in southern Europeans, PIE enrichment, language and culture). I hope that perhaps if the region is stable enough, in the aftermath, I could visit it one day on vacation. Unfortunately, for the time being, I cannot even safely travel to Egypt. We were planning a trip to Egypt in 2027, but that's not happening now.

Thankfully, it is reported that both sides have agreed to a ceasefire for the next two weeks and re-open the Strait of Hormoz!

This is a major breakthrough, as the new Ayatollah was said to have agreed as well.

it's just after 7 pm eastern here, less than one hour left. They better think of something fast, best case scenario-he takes the L and packs his bags. Call off this whole "war thing". While an extension of the deadine isnt even a millionth as bad as nuking Iran to death, it would just prolong the war, keep us in suspense as to what will happen if the deadline is breached, and more confusion.

I missed this, sounds like a step in the right direction but not sure what they'll do during those two weeks. Hopefully work something out to end the war and rebuild

This 2 week pause is a good bandage but Trump always does these "extensions" where he pauses tariffs/war activities but doesn't really have any amazing solutions other than slowly realizing what he did was wrong (tariffs, Iran) and ultimately gives up on his plan (which he should've done earlier or never should've even started in the first place). Yeah pausing tariffs or the Iran war will 100 pct always lead to economy recovering but who's to say what will happen between now and then bc at this point im not optimistic he'll think of something better than ending the war entirely and fixing the bad blood between us and Iran (or the rest of the planet). Usually towards the tail end of these extensions the economy takes a bit of a dive bc Trump hasn't really thought of anything in place of what he had in mind (so he gives us another deadline extension, keeping us all in suspense bc we dont think he has an actual plan).

And this does NOT erase his absolutely evil threats to wipe out Iran and end it's civilization, that's prob one of the worst things a pres has said bc that's literally a genocidal threat and just shows how unhinged he is (even moreso at this point bc he never threatened to destroy an entire population until now). Something like that should be taken 100 pct seriously and I doubt Iran will forgive those crazy, idiotic words that came from his butthole.

I personally don't trust that he won't threaten genocide again, and I'm pretty sure he would've been happy to nuke Iran into dust if not for that 10 point deal someone else gave him at the last minute.
