Wow, and where exactly it says so in this article? Not mentioning that it is written in style and smells like old Soviet propaganda piece. Where does it say that Putin is pressing Turkey for Kurdish autonomy or something in this regard? Please cite, maybe I'm going blind.
And behold, Russia the "friend" of Kurds don't even entertain the idea of free Kurdistan, for example, made from parts of countries which don't exist anymore like Syria and Iraq, never mind Turkey or Iran! Where is your Putin supporting free Kurdistan?!!! I guess it is not in Russian and Putin's interest.
"The friend" of Kurdistan doesn't want to anger Turkey nor Iran. And you want Russia to tell Turkey about Federation with Kurds, lol.

Give it up already with him. post WW1 the Kurds declared an Independent state in Northwest of Iran, the Soviets were close allies with Kurds back than and supplied them with military equipment resulting in various defeats for the Persian army who were already used to it by the horsemans of Simko Shikak (whom they only could defeat by a trap in which they poisned him), and bringing fears in the now very young Turkish republic. A little stay in middle of Persia and modern Turkey was the reson for various geopolitical conflicts. The Persian, back than allies of the British and Americans (Anglo_Persian company) and Turkey new allies of the US brought rumors up and accused the Kurdish Mahabad republic of being "Communists" because they were allied to the Soviet Union. They asked the Western powers to put presure on Moscow to withdraw their support for the Kurds. And it worked. After an agreement with the Soviets Moscow abondened the Kurds to their fate, being slowly swallowed by the Anglo_Persian army.
Back than the Prasident was Qazi Mohammed and his commander of the army was Mustafa Barzani, who went there after fighting the British-Iraqi alliance in Iraqi Kurdistan. Since the beggining of the 20th century the Kurds had not only to fight all their neighbors what on itself was bad enough but also their allies (Especially the British colonial powers). Persia was than the best buddy of Britain.
But this doesn't seem to bother Goga. That his Persian buddies were oppressing the Kurds with help of Britain.
After the West came to an agreement with the Soviets, the Soviets simply abondened the Kurds. Without military support this was the beginning of the downfall against the Persians and their British allies. And this is also when the famous march of Mustafa Barzani and 500 of his fighters through Iran and Turkey into the Soviet union. On his way through Turkey a regiment o 2000 Turkish soldier put themselves in their way only to be defeated in days and Mustafa Barzani and his fighters keeping their path to Soviet Union.
Arrived in Moscow it is said that Mustafa Barzani knocked on the door with the words, "Here is the voice of the Kurds, you abandoned, speaking.". The Soviet union decided to host him and his fighters for over 10 years and support his plans to regain som ground in Kurdistan, (probably because the Soviets knew he was right and felt guilty for abandoning the Kurds).
Thats how it ws back than we Kurds were te allies of Russia while Iran and Turkey allies of the West. How fast geopolitical relationships can change.
This was the second, but unfortunately not the last time the Kurds had to learn the hard way to never rely on anyone else. This is how the Kurdish proverb "No friends but the mountains came to live."
Relying on Russia or the West for that matter, that they would completely put aside their own interests to support us is not only naive and dumb but in the case of a Kurdish individual simply sad.
Geopolitics never worked the way of who is right and who is wrong but who is my ally and what suits my own interests most.
And this is how we Kurds need act and our politicians seem to have learned from the failures of the past (at least for most). You can't rely on the world powers, but you also can't without them.
